I have seven fashion models in my house – all who demand special outfits for special occasions, and as an indulgent but frugal grandmother, I of course want to find an inexpensive way to make their outfits unique.
For someone who wants to wear her heart on her sleeve on Valentine’s Day, we borrowed this simple suggestion from Martha Stuart at almost no cost (felt is only $.35 at the craft store). No Sewing needed!
1. Cut hearts from pink or red felt proportional to the size of the shirt’s buttons.
2. Fold each in half horizontally, and cut a vertical slit, or buttonhole, about the same size as the button.
3. To wear, button up shirt, and then slip hearts over buttons.
